Purchased 1939. Transferred from the Royal Library between 1939 - 1945. With bookplate pasted in front of volume 'Verum atque decens' [John Lee of Hartwell] and note in ink at top of page: 'Dr ?Welles sale by Sotheby. 1828.5.5 no.861'. A typescript note inside the front of this folder quotes from "William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland : his early life and times" by Sir Evan Charteris and refers to a similar exercise book held at the British Museum
