DescriptionThis is the main series of correspondence and documents to and from individuals, reports on military matters, logistics and practical elements of maintaining armies and troops, warrants, receipts, and intelligence gathering. Following a volume of Lovat Papers, (CP/MAIN/1), they include military papers, military accounts and troop details, orders and memoranda. They include documents pertaining to North America, particularly the founding of Georgia, as well as some discussing British policy and activities in the East Indies and elsewhere. Finally, there are some papers relating to Windsor Great Park (CP/MAIN/70) and seven volumes of the Duke of Cumberland's accounts for Cumberland Lodge, 1744-1764 (CP/MAIN/72-78).
