Title | Household [?] account book kept by General Jacob de Budé, 1818, principally recording payments of wages and expenses to Household servants. |
Date | 1818 |
Description | Some pages have been cut out. The book starts with a 'Weekly account' (no details for what the amounts were for), and then has separate sections for individual named members of staff, mostly identifying their positions and giving details of their salary and board wages, and listing payments to them, with some loose sheets presumably slotted into the relevant sections (these seem to be for travelling expenses, and are slotted in to the sections for two grooms). The volume ends with a list of bills paid during the year, possibly to named tradesmen, but with no details of what the payments were for. |
