Description
Frederick expresses his sorrow for Hamilton's loss of "so promising a Boy" [Archibald, accidentally drowned]. He asks to reassure Miss [Jane] Hamilton that her mother is well [Jane Hamilton]
A later note in pencil, written on a blank page of this letter, reads: "Frederick Prince of Wales to the father of his mistress extremely rare as a.l.s. [autograph letter signed]".
The Prince of Wales' wax seal is still attached.
