Title
Memorandum by Charlotte, Princess Royal, Queen of Württemberg, for the Prince Regent, expressing her views on the choice of a husband for Princess Charlotte.
Date
[?December 1813]
Writer
Württemberg, Charlotte, Princess Royal, Queen of (1766-1828)
Addressee
George, Prince Regent (1762-1830)
Description
It is probable that this is the 'paper' enclosed with the Queen's letter to Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt of 14 December 1815 (GEO/MAIN/51744). The Queen advises strongly against the Hereditary Prince of Orange and considers King William III a very bad political precedent; she recommends other Princes without previous connections with England, who would be less likely to set themselves up in opposition to the Prince Regent.
