ArrangementThe original order of this collection is unknown, but the majority of records have been catalogued to reflect their current physical order. The catalogue is predominantly chronological (reflecting the physical order of the documents and their possible administrative use) and minimal intellectual re-arrangement has been necessary to maintain this order and create an easily accessible catalogue. There has been no physical re-ordering of the documents during cataloguing.

This collection has been divided into the following at Series and File levels:

1. Bills and receipts of [George] Prince of Wales, 1756-1757
2. Privy Purse papers, [?1734-1795]
3. Quarterly accounts, 1761-1766
4. Secret Service accounts, 1779-1801
5. Accounts of the younger princes, 1781-1809
6. Papers of George Rose, 1782-1844
7. Civil List account book, 1793-1815
8. Annual accounts for the Office of Groom of the Stole, Windsor, 1812-1830
9. Wardrobe account books supplied by White and Humfreys; tailors, 1774-1879

The Wardrobe accounts have been catalogued at the end to reflect that this was a later deposit (not created by the household) and that its coverage includes the reign of Queen Victoria.

This collection was catalogued in full, Autumn 2019.
