Description
Sending via [Thomas] Tyrwhitt 'a series of [Calcutta Gazettes Extraordinary] comprehending the official reports of our late rapid & splendid success in India against the confederate forces of Scindiah [Sindhia] & the Rajah of Berar' and that a more detailed statement will be sent with Major Nicolson; praising General [Gerard] Lake; and enclosing an official report of 'the memorable & decisive victory' of forces commanded by his brother Major-General [Arthur] Wellesley [missing].
With a note at top of document: 'Original by Lt Cantelo, though Egypt to England. Dispatched on the 9th Novr 1803'
