Title | Letter from Marianne Skerrett to Sir William Ross, written from Buckingham Palace, regarding a miniature of Prince Arthur |
Date | 13 July [1854] |
Writer | Skerrett, Marianne; Dresser to Queen Victoria |
Addressee | Ross, William Charles, Sir; Miniature painter to Queen Victoria |
Description | Prince Albert likes the miniature very much, the only thing he wants altered is the chin which he thinks is rather too long and pointed - not that Prince Arthur has a round chin, but this is rather too pointed. He also thinks that the eyelashes could be rather longer and darker. With regards to the dress he wants a blouse instead of a frock and Miss Skerrett sends one for the pattern. Prince Arthur has light blue ones and green ones but Ross can decide as to that. When done, the miniature goes into a round case like the others. |
