Title | Letter from Sir William Ross to his sister Maria, regarding various miniatures |
Date | 1 February 1856 |
Writer | Ross, William Charles, Sir; Miniature painter to Queen Victoria |
Addressee | Ross, Maria, Miss |
Description | Ross encloses a paper for Mr Rawlings and asks that it is sent to him immediately as he wants to commence a miniature of Mrs Cairnes, Mr Thomas Miller's beautiful sister. Lady Louisa Agnew has written to say she will call for a small miniature of her sister in a gold setting. It is in Ross's desk, for which he sends the key, and Maria or Adeline may have charge of it until Lady Louisa calls or sends for it. The large one will not be finished until the end of February and Magdelene should finish hers without delay as is may be the one that is wanted - it had better be fixed behind glass. Ross is quite well and getting on satisfactorily with his work. He is sorry to send so short a letter and one on business too. |
