Title | Letter from Sir William Ross to Mrs Holden, mostly concerning her recent crisis of faith. |
Date | [?1850s] |
Writer | Ross, William Charles, Sir; Miniature painter to Queen Victoria |
Addressee | Holden, -, Mrs |
Description | Sir William Ross apologises for not having written sooner to Mrs Holden, particularly considering how unwell she was last time he saw her. He has heard from Mr Burden that Mrs Holden is having a crisis of faith and writes encouraging words to her on this matter. Ross hopes he has not taken too much upon himself in this regard and hopes to hear from Mrs Holden soon if she is well enough. Ross writes that Mr Burden has removed to Ipswich where he thinks he will be comfortably situated as assistant to the Reverend Mr Nottage and also talks of other mutual acquaintances. Ross looks forward to Easter, when he believes he will see his dear friends in Northamptonshire. Undated. |
