TitlePart of letter from Elizabeth Baker-Cresswell to Sir William Ross, inviting him to stay at Cresswell.
Date[?1850s]
WriterCresswell, Elizabeth Baker-
AddresseeRoss, Sir William Charles; Miniature painter to Queen Victoria
DescriptionElizabeth Baker-Cresswell asks Ross to extend his northward visit to pay them a summer visit as his acquaintance with the northern climate has previously been only in the winter and it is not a very long jorney from York or Leeds. She expects Ross will bring Ella's picture, but if other engagements prevent him coming so far north, if it is left in the care of Lady Ross at the Gun House, St James's, she will be able to collect it. She has heard from her son and his wife that they have arrived in Varna after an eight week voyage, where they were received by Lords Lucan and Raglan. Undated.
