DescriptionQueen Victoria informs the Prince of Wales that the affairs of Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, are 'being arranged but he must go to sea for 3 years & make great reductions'. The Queen reports that 'Poor Col. Maude's [Colonel (later Sir) George Ashley Maude] son has had 3 relapses & the last 3 days, inflamation of the lungs', and that '[Prince] Leopold is much better, free from pain since two or 3 days'. The Queen also notes the death of Sir Antony Rothschild.
