Description
Queen Victoria is writing to the Prince of Wales on the anniversary of his marriage 'which has been a very happy one'. She notes the 'dreadful disgraceful business about Lady Aylesford' and George Charles Spencer-Churchill, Marquis of Blandford (later 8th Duke of Marlborough), remarking 'how unpardonable of Lord Alington to draw dear Alix [Alexandra, Princess of Wales] into it'. The Queen also refers to the funeral of Lady Augusta Stanley.
