Date
15 November 1867
Writer
Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (1841-1910)

Victoria, Queen
Description
The Prince asks the Queen to reconsider her objection to Dr Paget and Dr Hewitt (surgeons to the Princess of Wales) receiving the Order of the Dannebrog, citing a precedence of Dr Jenner and Mr Thomson receiving a Belgian decoration. He comments on the works being undertaken at Sandringham, including the importance of providing comfortable accommodation for servants 'without spoiling them'. He also notes: 'I have now gas everywhere...(of course not in living rooms) & as the phrase goes, I make my own gas'. He also refers to his 'own Farm, wh. is now completed'.
