DescriptionThe Prince explains his previous remarks on marriage [see VIC/ADD/A/3/56], and comments on the desirability of knowing 'a person a short time before one even proposes'. He reports on his visit to Carton. The Prince also expresses his satisfaction at Prince Victor of Hohenlohe-Langenburg dropping his rank to enable his wife to hold the same position as himself, and assumes Queen Victoria will always treat him as her nephew.
