DescriptionEdward VII ordered his Private Secretary to destroy his personal papers on his death, and this collection of papers represents the main group of surviving records in the Royal Archives. They include a collection of school books; correspondence with Queen Victoria and his sister Victoria, Princess Royal (later Dowager German Empress) and collections of miscellaneous financial and legal papers.

Related MaterialEarly Journals (1852-1865) and engagement diaries (1875-1910) will be found in VIC/MAIN/EVIID. Letters to and concerning Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, 1846-1901, will be found in VIC/MAIN/T/1-10 and letters from the Duke of Connaught to Edward VII, 1905-1908, in VIC/MAIN/W/72. A nurse's diary relating to the King's illness in 1902 is in VIC/ADD/C/13 with related medical bulletins in VIC/MAIN/X/38.
