TitleLetter from W. B. Tiffin to Charles Ruland concerning the Woodburn collection of drawings which he is cataloguing and which he will try to arrange for Ruland to see.
Date7 April 1860
WriterTiffin, W.B.; publisher
AddresseeRuland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionTiffin confirms that he is cataloguing the late Samuel Woodburn's collection of drawings which is to be auctioned by Christie's. They include some from Sir Thomas Lawrence's collection of Old Master drawings, of which the Raphaels are particularly fine.
He will have to apply to Miss Woodburn for permission to show them to Ruland, and will do so; if the Prince Consort wishes to see them no doubt this would be allowed. He adds that he has not yet traced anything on Ruland's list of drawings he is looking for.
