Description | Scott writes that he is sending photographs of the drawings he bought at the Woodburn sale which now belong to the Duc d'Aumale, so that the Prince Consort can decide whether he wants them for his collection. He still has two drawings attributed to Raphael from the same sale (727, and an unnumbered drawing), and sends [photographs of ] these for the Prince's inspection. He bought another (740 which he has sold on, and also 743, and will send photographs of these). According to J.C. Robinson of the South Kensington Museum, the Aumale drawings were nos. 726 & 729 in the Woodburn sale catalogue (see VIC/ADDA10/85/139). |
