Date30 May 1857
WriterWeigel, Rudolf; art collector and dealer
AddresseeBecker, Ernst, Dr.; Librarian to the Prince Consort
Description(15) Weigel writes that he has learned from an article by Passavant in the Deutsches Kunstblatt that the Prince Consort has had a volume of photographic reproductions of drawings by Raphael printed for publication. As he is preparing a list of facsimiles of drawings by the most celebrated masters, he would like to borrow the volume for a short while, to add to his list. He adds that he will soon be sending Becker a new auction catalogue containing the collection of Count [name illegible] in Dresden.
(15a) Note by Becker recording his reply that the photographs have not been published, but if they were, he would remember Weigel's request.
