Title
Letter from the Rev. Frederick Sutton to Charles Ruland agreeing to allow his picture of St Michael to be photographed for the Prince Consort.
Date
16 July 1861
Writer
Sutton, Frederick H., Rev.
Addressee
Ruland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
Description
Sutton writes in reply to Ruland's letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/174) stating that he will be pleased to allow his picture of St Michael to be photographed for the Prince Consort. He has little doubt that it is an early work by Raphael and not Perugino. Raphael's name is written on the tassel of a cap in the painting, but such signatures are unreliable.
