TitleLetter from Dr. Henry Wellesley to Charles Ruland regarding the photographing of (Raphael) drawings at Christ Church and of others in his own possession.
Date24 July 1861
WriterWellesley, Henry, Hon. & Rev. Dr.; Principal of New Inn Hall
AddresseeRuland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionWellesley reports that he has written to the Dean of Christ Church supporting Ruland's request for permission to have drawings in the college collection photographed; if the Dean agrees the photographer will be able to start whenever convenient, and Wellesley has told the Keeper, Joseph Fisher, to give the photographer every assistance. His own drawings may be photographed at the same time in Oxford, or in London if that were preferable. His only wish is that they be photographed as well as possible for the Prince Consort. He has no objection to Ludwig Gruner having copies of the photographs of any of his drawings.
