TitleLetter from Charles Thurston Thompson to Dr. Ernst Becker as to prints from the negatives he has made, and the larger lens he has ordered.
Date4 September 1854
WriterThompson, Charles Thurston; photographer
AddresseeBecker, Ernst, Dr.; Librarian to Prince Albert
DescriptionIn response to Becker's letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/4, 4a), Thompson promises to send Prince Albert every print from the Raphael negatives he has made. Mr Ross should have finished making the new lens for him, so he hopes to be able to reproduce the largest drawings full size and avoid reducing or joining. He thanks Becker for hinting that it may be possible for him to have a copy of his work.
He adds a postscript saying that he has seen portraits taken by the Sappers on board a ship off Varna, but has not yet received anything from the [Crimean] front.
