Title
Letter from Thomas Baring to General Grey giving permission for his [Raphael] pictures to be photographed.

Baring, Thomas

Grey, Charles, Maj. Gen. Hon.; Private Secretary to the Prince Consort
Description
Baring writes that he has no objection to the two pictures mentioned by Grey being photographed. They belonged to his father: the Holy Family came from the Methuen collection and the head from the Le Brun gallery. The latter is mentioned in the Recueil de Gravures au Trait.
For Sir Francis Baring's letter about these pictures, which in fact contradicts Thomas's statement about their provenance, see VIC/ADDA10/85/51.
