Description | Ruland refers to Buchanan's earlier assistance in obtaining photographs of pictures by Raphael in Madrid for the Prince Consort, who regrets troubling him again. He asks whether Buchanan could have two drawings in the possession of the former Director of the Royal Museum, Señor José de Madrazo, photographed by Mr Clifford. They are 1) Study for the picture called 'Madonna di Casa Staffa' at Perugia, with Mary turned to the left, the Child sitting on her arm holding a globe, with a study for a Holy Family on the reverse; 2) A Holy Family, with the Child turning his head towards St John standing at his side. The Prince would like the negatives and a print of each. |
