TitleLetter from Charles Clifford to Ruland sending two more negatives from drawings in SeƱor Madrazo's collection and asking him to forward a packet to the Prince of Wales.
Date14 February 1860
WriterClifford, Charles; photographer
AddresseeRuland, Charles; German Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionClifford sends the two new negatives desired by the Prince, and apologises for the delay which was caused by Sr Madrazo's illness. He has not included the 'Pasmo de Sicilia' mentioned in his earlier letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/320) because its authorship is in doubt. Sr Madrazo has no other Raphael drawings. The only sketch for a Holy Family is the one of which he previously sent a photograph.
Clifford asks Ruland to forward a packet to Colonel Bruce for the Prince of Wales. He adds a PS stating that the [photographs of] the drawings are the exact size of the originals, the larger being a dark sepia drawing and the female figure in the smaller picture is drawn with silver point and the Child in sepia outline.
On the reverse of the letter Ruland has recorded his reply of 15 February asking Clifford to send his bill.
