Description | Bernoud, a photographer in Naples, writes that he has received Becker's letter. He confirms that he did receive the Prince's commission, via Monsieur Kanné the previous winter, to photograph various pictures by Raphael in Naples. Kanné asked Monsieur Melga to arrange permission, through the British Consul, for Bernoud to take the photographs. But Melga, and now Bernoud himself, have both been told by the Consul that he could not take any such action without direct instructions from the Foreign Office. Bernoud therefore asks Dr. Becker to arrange this, and assures him that he will take the photographs as soon as he receives the necessary permission. |
