TitlePart of a letter from George Russell [to his father] from Rome concerning efforts to find the photographer Grillet at Naples, enclosing a letter from Augustus Craven on the same subject.
Date4 March [1861]
WriterRussell, George; Assistant Secretary, Office of Works c.1857-1869
Addressee[Russell, William]
DescriptionRussell states that he wrote to Grillet about the Prince's commission but received no answer; the reason is clear from the letter he encloses from Augustus Craven. Craven lives in Naples and is a very good amateur photographer whose judgment about the qualifications of anyone he recommends may be trusted.
The beginning of the letter is missing; addressee presumed from signature 'yours ever affectionately'.
