TitleLetter from Artaria & Co in Vienna to Charles Ruland stating that they have made preparations for the photographing of drawings in the collection of Archduke Albrecht, but that it cannot be done before Easter.
Date23 March 1860
WriterArtaria & Co, Vienna
AddresseeRuland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionIn response to a letter of 28 February from Ruland, Artaria & Co state that they have made the necessary preparations to carry out his commission, but that the work itself cannot begin until after Easter. They have established that the drawings of which photographs are requested are indeed in the Archduke Albrecht's collection, and Herr von Sengel, the director of the Archduke's gallery, has been so helpful that they cannot but mention this, as Ruland may like to write him a few appreciative lines. Artaria themselves are of course only in a position to offer the subordinate officials concerned some real compensation for their trouble. They conclude by assuring Ruland of their willingness to be of service.
