TitleLetter from W. Tinker to Charles Ruland sending his charge for the photography he has done, and agreeing to photograph 8 more drawings at the Teyler Museum attributed to Raphael.
Date13 April 1861
WriterTinker, W.; photographer at Haarlem
AddresseeRuland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionTinker writes that he is glad to hear the glass plates he sent arrived safely; he states his charge of £60.15 for the work. He reports that he has been to the Teyler Museum to see the other 6 drawings described by Passavant and two others also by Raphael; these have always been considered as copies and the directors seem to doubt their authenticity, but Tinker thinks most are original, and has been given permission to photograph them, for which he will charge £20. He adds a postscript saying that there is a beautiful collection of drawings by other great masters at the Museum.
