Description
Sylvain Van de Weyer writes to the Prince Consort enclosing an announcement from a Belgian newspaper (see VIC/ADDA10/85/517) of the public sale on 26 January of a painting by Raphael, and informing him of a new article on Raphael by Charles Blanc mentioned in the Journal des Débats.
The painting is described in the press cutting as depicting Ceres or the Goddess of Agriculture.
