TitleLetter from Hon. Edward Erskine, the British Chargé d'Affaires in Stockholm, to Charles Ruland saying that he will send the photographic plates and prints given him by Mr Grubb as soon as possible, and that there will be no charge for them.
Date14 March 1860
WriterErskine, Edward, Hon.; British Chargé d'Affaires in Sweden, 1859-1860
AddresseeRuland, Charles; Librarian to the Prince Consort
DescriptionErskine reports that Mr Grubb has given him a box containing the photographic plates and prints of some Raphael drawings in the Royal Museum, but he may not be able to send it to London until May if the navigation does not open before then. He adds that the Royal Museum wishes to present them to the Prince Consort without charge, in gratitude for his present of photographs of the Windsor Raphael drawings.
Erskine has written 'some Raffaelle (?) Drawings'; but the contents of the box were evidently the prints and plates of the Timoteo Viti drawing after Raphael mentioned in Grubb's letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/541 and VIC/ADDA10/85/542).
