Description
Crampton writes that he is enclosing a letter from Count Schouvaloff, Grand Marshal of the Court at St Petersburg, (see VIC/ADDA10/85/549 and VIC/ADDA10/85/550) in response to his enquiry on the Prince Consort's behalf about pictures by Raphael in the Hermitage, together with the accompanying list of pictures, of which permission is given for photographs to be made for the Prince. A note by Becker records that he replied on 28 April.
