Description
Lord Durham's conduct (in Canada) leads to Lord Brougham introducing a bill explaining the Canada Act, and indemnifying certain persons who were misled. A very disagreeable debate in the Lords on the Bill, led off by Brougham. Bill read and carried second time. Resignation feared, which would cause much embarrassment to the Government.
