Description
Sketch of a method of Canadian Government. Demand that the Legislative Council shall be elected by the people. Melbourne holds this to be inadmissible. Paper concerning Montreal sent by Lord Glenelg. Abstract of Lord Glenelg's letter of instructions to Lord Gosford as to his conduct in Canada, at the present juncture. Sent to Queen Victoria for her perusal. Lord Gosford empowered by Glenelg's letter to take the means to tranquillise Canada, and compose differences which agitate the Dominion.
