TitleLetter from Lord Melbourne to Queen Victoria
Date2 February 1841
WriterMelbourne, 2nd Viscount
AddresseeVictoria, Queen
DescriptionCabinet Dinner tomorrow. Melbourne will speak to Palmerston about Russell. Melbourne does not see the name of the Archbishop of Canterbury as a subscriber to the Parker Society. This is a party measure, levelled against the New Oxford Doctrines. The Society publishes works of older Divines. Doctrines of Church of England up to Elizabeth were decidedly Calvinistic. Then came Arminian opinions.
