Description
Lord Derby on Lord Clarendon's speech in the Lords and Count Walewski's despatch. Count de Persigny's desire for an amicable settlement. Another despatch from Count Walewski mislaid and unknown to the Foreign Secretary or Under Secretary. Possibility of its modifying the draft despatch already prepared and read to Queen Victoria. The Government's intention of dealing seriously with Parliamentary Reform well received in the House of Lords.
