DescriptionLord Derby on the necessity for two of the Naval Lords to have seats in Parliament. Captain Carnegie's (Captain Honourable Swinfen T. Carnegie R.N.) refusal to enter Parliament, in spite of his appointment on that condition. His resignation and that of Sir R. Dundas (Rear Admiral the Honourable Sir Richard Dundas R.N.). Rear Admiral Sir Henry Leeke R.N. and Captain Sir William Legge George Hoste R.N. (Baronet) submitted as Lords of the Admiralty, both having good chances of election.
