Description
Queen Victoria on Lord Granville's fruitless attempt to form a Government with Lord Palmerston and Lord J. Russell. Lord Palmerston now charged with it. Her Majesty's approval of the appointment of Mr G. Pigott to the Poor Law Board, but 'thinks the appointment ought to be considered to have been sanctioned some time ago' in view of the time of Lord Devon's resignation.
