Description
Cabinet's decision regarding Sir J. Trelawney's Bill for the abolition of Church rates, in view of their inability to frame a satisfactory Government measure. Lord Palmerston on the need for further information as to the Fiji Islands' cotton-growing powers, before deciding on Queen Victoria's acceptance of the offer of sovereignty. Lord Palmerston on the forthcoming motion in the House of Commons urging the advantage of opening a carriage way from St James's Park into Charing Cross. Reply decided on by Cabinet. Lord Palmerston on the course considered advisable by Cabinet regarding armistice (Italy).
