Memorandum to be submitted on the result of Mr Gladstone's inquiry into precedents regarding prospective arrangements for members of the Royal Family. Their unfavourable character. Cabinet view as to a proposal to Parliament. The financial arrangements on Princess Alice's marriage. Time for its proposal to Parliament to depend on Queen Victoria's pleasure. Cabinet's opposition to indefinite prolongation of the French occupation of Syria desired by the French Government. Desirability of accepting their offer of evacuation.
