Description
Sidney, 1st Baron Herbert of Lea's and the Duke of Somerset's desire for the thanks of Parliament to be given to Naval and Military Commanders in China. The Duke of Somerset (E.A.S., 12th Duke of Somerset) proposed to carry the Crown at the Opening of Parliament, in view of the inability of Lord Lansdowne.
