Description
Queen Victoria's approval for David Baxter's baronetcy pressed for. Granville George, 2nd Earl Granville's faith in Dr Quin (the first homeopathic doctor in England). Reverend Charles Cornish named for the Living at Templeton. Very Reverend Dr H. Newland submitted for the Bishopric of Kilmore, on the promotion of Bishop Beresford. Hopetoun (John Adrian, 7th Earl of Hopetoun; after Marquis of Linlithgow) proposed for the Lieutenancy of Linlithgow. Dr Robert Phillimore submitted for a Knighthood on his appointment as the Queen's Advocate, in accordance with usual practice.
