Description
Queen Victoria's objection to the promotion of Dr Waldegrave to Archbishop of York. Recommendation of an older bishop, neither high nor low church requested. Right Reverend Dr Henry Philpott or the Right Reverend Dr William Thomson suggested. Approval of Dr Vaughan for the See vacated by the appointment of the Archbishop of York. Dr Liddell suggested in the event of his refusal. Appointment of Archdeacon Henry Law as Dean of Gloucester approved by Her Majesty. Appointment of Mr Villiers to the Living of Adisham Kent and Reverend F. Tarver to the Living of Staple, Kent approved by Her Majesty. Correction as to the latter's position with the Prince of Wales.
