Description	Queen Victoria trusts that the answer as to Cyprus will be firm and unequivocal. Her Majesty refers to Sir H. Robinson's report of the feelings of the nation, and the horrible cruelty of the Boers to the 'natives'. It made Carnarvon feel that the Government was forced to annex the Transvaal [South Africa]. The natives should be reassured that slavery and oppression shall not recur. Queen Victoria's letter to Gladstone concerning Charles Bradlaugh, the disgraceful proceedings in the House of Commons and of the revolutionary views of some Members of Parliament. Her hope that the Government will not send up Bills to the Lords which they cannot conscientiously agree to.
