DescriptionPalmerston suggests caution to Queen Victoria when bidding farewell to Count Orloff [Russian Ambassador] when he takes his leave, lest the Czar of Russia should take her words as an invitation to England - a thing not just now desirable. Palmerston sends Gotha Almanac to Queen Victoria, useful as a book of reference. Time fixed for Count Sebastiani to take leave. Palmerston suggests that Sebastiani thinks attentions [?to] Count Orloff too marked. Palmerston explained the circumstances.
