TitleLetter from Sir Robert Peel to Queen Victoria
Date10 June 1843
WriterPeel, Robert, Sir, 2nd Baronet
AddresseeVictoria, Queen
DescriptionQueen Victoria's Message respecting the marriage [of Princess Augusta] delivered at the Bar. The House mistakenly expected that the Message concerned Ireland. Mr Hume gave notice that he would oppose any public provision for the Princess. Peel heard that nothing occurred in the Lords respecting the appearance of the King of Hanover there. Numerous questions put respecting reports of occurrences [in relation to the state of Ireland]. Desultory discussion on the clauses of the Irish Poor Relief Bill.
