DescriptionPeel called on the Duke of Wellington to ask what course he thought it advisable for Queen Victoria to take [regarding the Levee]. Duke's opinion in full. Peel to see Lord Aberdeen as to precedency, as between the Kings of Hanover and Belgium. The King of the Belgians might possibly waive any discussion of relative rank on public and political grounds. With regard to matters of Precedence, Peel advises Her Majesty to give Prince Albert, on the occasion of the Marriage and of the Drawing Room, the same position as if no Sovereign were present, and sign the Register immediately after Her Majesty. The order of procession on leaving the Chapel. Peel has sent for all documents connected with the Registry of Royal Marriage.
