Motion to withdraw annuity of £21,000 from the King of Hanover. Opposed by Peel on the ground that it was secured to the Duke of Cumberland for life, and withdrawal would be a violation of good faith. Motion lost (191 to 91). Strong expressions against the King in the debate.
