Description
Earl Delawarr consults Peel concerning the Drawing Room, and the chances of the King of Hanover attending. The Earl to see the King of Hanover and explain Queen Victoria's commands as to his position. Bill for abolishing the Roman Catholic Oath. Brought in by member for Belfast, and passed without opposition in the Lords and the Commons. Peel explains the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829, when Oath was required from Roman Catholics at Elections. The Reform Act was understood to dispense with this. Opinion of Law Authorities in favour of Abolition. The bill passed to remove doubt.
