Description | Peel has had long correspondence with Marquess of Bristol regarding the Lord Lieutenancy of Suffolk. He declines the office, but wishes his son, Lord Jermyn, to be appointed, as being younger. Peel states objections. Lord Bristol suggests, therefore, that he should hold the office and relinquish later in favour of his son. Peel would not be a party to this, and recommends that the Earl of Stradbroke be appointed. |
